TSX Install Pictures

Thanks to Chris for letting me use his car to test this module!

This install is probably the easiest of all the modules we sell (except maybe the traction control memory module).

I'm not much for taking pictures of the disasembly, so I don't have any.

Taking the car apart was easy, I removed one screw from the drivers side lower dash inner bezel. With the screw removed the inner bezel pops out. I then removed the drivers side under dash by simply pulling down on it (its the black piece actually under the dash).

With these two pieces removed I could access the back of the sunroof switch. I reached my hand up and pushed on the back of the sunroof switch and the entire housing popped out. I unplugged the two switches and thats it!

I pulled back on the split loom tubing running up to the sunroof harness to reveal a bundle of wires.

My wiring digram told me:

Black - Ground (KPtech black wire)
Gray/Sky Blue - Sunroof Open (KPtech green wire)
Lt Green/Black - Sunroof Closed (KPtech blue wire)
Green/Orange - Sunroof Vent (KPtech orange wire)

In order for the module to work with the 'Vent' function you have to cut the 'Open' and 'Close' wires and install a diode in each one. This prevents backfeeding of voltages on the 'Open' and 'Close' wires during vent. If you do not want the 'One Touch' feature to work on the vents you do NOT need to cut these two wires. For reference only, the stripe is on the harness side. In the final production version the diodes will be color coded and easy to install, if chosen.

In order to make my connections on each wire I gently stripped about 3/8" of insulation back to expose the copper. I then wrapped the wire from the KPtech module securely around the exposed copper and soldered it with my butane iron.

After my connections were all made and covered with Scotch 33+ electrical tape I stuffed all the wires back in the split loom tubing and retaped the tube.

The final wire (yellow ignition wire) can be found under the dash in a large wire loom. It is Black/Yellow in color and is of a fairly large guage.

This is simply a low current ignition feed to power the module. It may be possible to find this wire elsewhere, such as in the fuse box if one desires. Since I tapped in to the main ignition wire on the vehicle I installed a 3A fuse inline between the Black/Yellow wire and the KPtech yellow wire.

I then stuffed this soldered and taped connection back in the loom and covered it up with electrical tape.

Now, its time to test the module!

I turned the ignition on and pushed the 'open' button twice quickly. The sunroof opened completely! I then pusehd the 'close' button twice, and it closed!

I tested the vent function and it worked perfectly as well!

Please keep in mind that once the sunroof 'One Touch' module has been triggered the only ways to stop it are:

1. Turn the ignition off
2. Press either of the OTHER two sunroof buttons

If you push the same button again it will NOT stop the sunroof from opening.

Never operate the sunroof when anything is obstructing its path of movement (small animals and kids especially).

Never operate the sunroof when the sunroof in not within your view.

Please use this module with respect and common sense!

If there are any questions don't hesitate to ask!

So, is this actually out right now? I don't see it on the products page. Thanks.

It hasn't been officially released. We never release a product before we have them in stock, and we don't have them in stock just yet.

I don't think it will ever actually be added to the site we have now, as we have basically outgrown it and are working on a brand new site that will offer us the flexibility we need!

Any possibility of integrating a remote open (and close if you have the module) into this for my 03 accord?

This module will not have the ability to accept remote commands.

We do have another module in the works that will add remote capabilities for the sunroof, but it hasn't even been tested yet.

Awesome, if ya need a tester I'm your man:D If I have the current roll up module, would it integrate with the sunroof module, if you ever release it?

All of our modules are designed to work seamlessly together, so integration shouldn't be a problem.

How soon until you have the one-touch sunroof module with remote capabilities ready for sale? I just purchased the window roll up module for my Honda Accord Euro (Acura TSX in USA) and am keen to have a sunroof module...

We haven't even started testing the remote part. We've been really busy lately trying to finish up a few products that have been in development for some time, and we're really not looking to start any new projects at this time!

I did an install on an '06 TSX this morning and found that on the particular '06 that I worked on none of the open/close/vent wires had tracers on them. They were all the same base color, but they were all solid! Everything else was exactly the same.

Okay, so still some testing going on. I am interested in the remote capability but definitely can wait for it. Holding down the close button on the other hand is becoming quite annoying in this beautiful summer weather that just begs me to open it all up.

any update on this module? I have the roll up installed on my 03 accord, and would really love to have one touch and remote close of the roof.

You are correct, this iwll NOT work in the coupe, due to different wiring.

Are these Sunroof modules still for sale? I have an 04 TSX. If so, how much?

Thanks
